Following the Monterey Park Shooting, US Flags Will Be Lowered to Half-mast

The US president has ordered all the flags in the nation to be flown at half-mast in memory of the victims. This was from the fatal shooting incident in Monterey Park, California.

“As a mark of respect for the victims of the senseless acts of violence perpetrated on January 21, 2023. The incident took place in Monterey Park, California.

I hereby order that the flag of the United state shall be flown at half-staff at the white house. However also upon all public buildings and grounds,” President Biden declared

In addition, the flag will remain at half-staff in all military bases and naval vessels as well as US embassies. This should also be the same for other international locations until sunset on January 26.

It was reported on Sunday that on 21 January a gunman opened fire at a local dance studio. This was in the city east of Los Angeles. The scene ended up killing 10 people and others injured.

As the first day of a two-day street festival celebrating the Lunar New Year concluded, an incident occurred that led to Monterey Park canceling the remainder of the event. The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation.
