Blizzard Sweeps Toward Britain: Met Office Issues Yellow Warnings

The UK Met Office has issued yellow warnings for an incoming major blizzard that is sweeping toward Britain.

This potentially severe weather system is expected to bring gusty winds and heavy snowfall. Thus Causing disruptions and hazardous conditions across the region.

Weather meteorologists are forecasting the storm to arrive in the early morning hours. Adding that it will bring strong winds capable of reaching up to 50 mph. Followed by up to 8 inches of snow in some areas.

This could lead to white-out conditions, making driving especially treacherous and potentially hazardous for travelers. The Met Office urges people living in affected areas to take extra precautions.

Furthermore to be prepared for any potential power outages or structural damages. These damages are likely to be caused by the blizzard’s powerful winds.

Met Office Address to the Citizens

The Met Office stated: “travel disruption and dangerous coastal conditions. In addition, the office communicated to the commuters to be ready for slower journey times on all means of transport. That is the buses, trains, and planes.

Earlier today, the South East area was issued a warning from the Met Office. Thus cautioning residents to be aware of freezing fog with visibility reduced to as little as 50 to 100 meters in some areas.

The warning was in effect until 11 am this morning, when it officially expired. Freezing fog occurs during cold temperatures when water vapor condenses. Thus forming tiny ice crystals that float in the air. This type of fog is especially dangerous because it can limit visibility and make road conditions hazardous.
